The exigence is clear that this little girl and those who relate to her expression over the given situation want some Chick-Fil-A. Obviously because its a meme we encounter this using our eyes and sense of sight. This isn't a face to face, I guess its more face to screen? The media would be an image delivered over text, email, or possibly seen on social media. The audience would be people who regularly visit Chick-Fil-A, may enjoy chicken, or hungry people in general. I think the composer used this style to spread the message because it is easiest for younger people, who visit Chick-Fil-A often due to its great food, friendly service, and their lack of caring for their healthy food choices. Memes are popular among younger people because they have a funny picture as well as being easily sharable. The design choices include he standard bold font (to grab attention), the picture of a little girl making a particular upset/sad face, and the reasoning for having it in black and white. As discussed in class this may be to invoke a sense of age and have the audience relate in a nostalgic manner to a time when they were a kid and couldn't have something they wanted. The rhetorical appeal is based solely in pathos, hoping that the viewer relates to the feeling of wanting without being able to have what is desired. The overall purpose is for a little laugh and something to relate to, which iI think it accomplishes really well.
