I've been having a lot of difficulty finding just one account to pull research from in order to aid in my research paper. My original account I followed was conducting an experiment in order to answer one of my main questions in my research but through seeing this experiment I realize it is not going to be much help. I have been struggling to find an account that has enough tweets or content to actually help but I have found many articles that have been tweeted that seem like they will be really helpful. The articles are published on professional websites like New York Times and scholarly reviewed articles that can be found on sciencedirect.com. There are also figures that have done research but don't have media violence as their main point of study. I have stumbled across a few psychology professors and even journalists or new casters that have tweeted and shared opinions on the topic. Philip Defranco is one of the 10 celebrities I followed on Twitter because I love the Youtube videos he makes. He covers daily news discussing different types of news. His content covers large scale stories that would be covered on tv news like political decisions but also regarding the other people on his platform. This gives him an interesting view on the violent media output because there are many very popular channels that are game play of very violent video games. Phil also has acknowledged news stories of violence, like mass shootings, discussing causes and influences. Phil often shows his support for freedom of speech, and media is extension of free speech. He also is a big supporter that a creator is not responsible for the actions of their audience if it is a byproduct of the creators media. It would be different if after a violent movie or throughout the course of a violent video game the creators supported the idea of the consumer committing crimes and being violent towards others, but they are simply telling a story. Stories have conflicts, thats what keeps them interesting and makes them relatable to everyday life because life is full of challenges and conflicts.
